At the anchor
Soline bay, Vrboska, Hvar
Visited in the Summer 2021
Large, safe, convenient, free anchorage.
There are many options and wherever you drop the anchor it will be good. Depending of your boat size you can chose between 3m and up to 20m.
Sand bottom and very good holding.
Good protection from all directions except E, SE but in my opinion very slim chance that you will get any bad weather from that direction. Specially during summer. Even in case of strong E and SE it is still protected from any serious waves so if you have a good anchor you shouldn’t worry.
Anchorage is large and busy but not too noisy. There is hotel complex on the shore with all standard hotel facilities.
Good and easy access with a tender.
No buoys
Good internet

About Vrboska
Vrboska is situated on the north coast of the island Hvar. Founded in the 15th century as a fishing harbour. The fortress-Church of St. Mary is dominating above the town. The church was fortified at the expense of local people for their defence against the Turks. It is well worth visiting.
In our opinion, Vrboska is the place you shouldn’t miss. Very charming, welcoming people, many restaurants and really warm atmosphere.
Best way to explore the island is to rent a quad or scooter. You will save a lot of trouble sailing around and finding good anchorages. We rented a scooter from the ˝Rent a Quad˝ (close to ACY marina). Friendly staff, great service, good scooter, good prices.
